NFC Chips
Every Coinfinity product must include an NFC chip programmed to point to coinfinityapp.com. This drives app installs across the ecosystem and is core to the Coinfinity experience — a customer taps the product with their phone and is taken to the app.
The NFC requirement applies to both Model A and Model B.
Two Sourcing Options
You can either order branded chips from Coinfinity, or source your own chips that meet the spec.
Option 1: Coinfinity-Branded Chips (recommended for Model A)
Branded chips come with the Coinfinity “C” logo printed on them. They’re pre-tested for compatibility with the Coinfinity app and ready to program.

Option 2: Self-Source Unbranded Chips
If you’d rather source your own, the chip must meet this spec:
- NTAG215 (504 bytes capacity)
- NFC Forum Type 2 compatible
- NDEF-formatted (or blank, ready to format)

Other suppliers are acceptable as long as the chips are genuine NTAG215. Avoid clones — they often have compatibility issues.
Programming the Chip
Every chip must be programmed with the following URL:
https://coinfinityapp.com
When a customer taps the product with an NFC-enabled phone, this URL opens automatically and takes them to the Coinfinity app landing page, where they can download iOS or Android.

Quality Notes
- Pre-program chips before installation — much harder to fix a chip embedded in a sealed product
- Test every chip before shipping — tap it with your phone and verify the URL opens the Coinfinity app page
- Lock the chip after writing if you want to prevent customers from overwriting it (optional but recommended for branded resellers)
Custom Branding (Model B)
If you’re a Licensed Maker (Model B), the NFC chip can carry your own branding (sticker, custom print, etc.) as long as:
- The chip type is NTAG215 or equivalent
- It’s programmed to coinfinityapp.com (not to your own URL — this is mandatory)
- It functions correctly with the Coinfinity app
The URL is the lock-in. The branding on the chip is flexible. EOF
